The short version
- Verse Caller is for adults (18+) with an Android phone, for personal use.
- It’s free. Premium is sold through Google Play, and you see the price before you pay. The free version shows ads in parts of the app, never on your calls, verses or prayers.
- Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in Google Play. Cancel before a free trial ends and you pay nothing.
- Scripture comes from public-domain editions, quoted exactly. Your prayers stay yours.
- Some phones limit what the app can do, and internet calls such as WhatsApp use their own screens.

Full company details: legal notice
2. Who can use the app
Verse Caller is made for adults. By using it, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. The app is for your personal, non-commercial use on Android phones that you own or control.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Verse Caller under these terms and Google Play’s terms. The app is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all rights we don’t expressly give you.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, lend or redistribute the app or its content, except through the sharing features the app provides;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or change the app, except where the law allows it;
- get around locks, ad unlocks, payment checks or other limits in the app;
- use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms other people.
4. Acceptable use
- Only use and share names and words that you have the right to use.
- Don’t use the app or shared links to harass, impersonate, spam or deceive anyone, or to spread illegal or hateful content.
- Don’t interfere with the app, our servers or our partners’ services, and don’t try to reach data that isn’t yours.
- You decide which numbers the app blocks. Emergency numbers are never blocked.
5. Your content
Prayers, intentions and other words you add to the app (“your content”) stay yours. They stay on your phone, we don’t receive them, and we claim no rights in them.
You can share verses as cards or messages. What you share, and where, is your decision and your responsibility.
6. Scripture and our content
The Bibles in the app are public-domain editions, quoted exactly as those editions print them: we never edit scripture. Each edition and its source is listed on our Bible sources page and in the app, under More → Settings → About. Traditional prayers come from named public-domain editions, each with its source.
The app, its design, its worship themes, verse card and widget designs, sounds and the other texts we wrote (“our content”) belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. The names and logos of our apps are ours too.
You may use our content inside the app, and share the verse cards it makes for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as messages and social media posts. You may not extract, sell or redistribute our content by itself. Public-domain texts stay free for everyone.
Open-source software and fonts in the app come with their own licences, listed in More → Settings → About.
7. The free version and ads
Verse Caller is free to download and use. People who don’t have Premium may see ads in parts of the app, and can keep some themes by choosing to watch a short ad to the end. Ads never appear on your calls, the Bible, prayers, the daily verse or Today.
A theme kept by watching an ad stays on that phone, but it can be lost if you uninstall the app or delete its data. Purchases are different: they come back with Restore purchases.
Ads come from third parties through Google AdMob. We don’t control their content and aren’t responsible for the products or services advertised. Your ad choices are explained in the privacy policy.
8. Premium and other purchases
What we sell
Verse Caller Premium, as a yearly or a monthly subscription and, in some countries, as Lifetime (a one-time purchase). Where the free version shows ads, Remove ads (a one-time purchase) turns them off. The offers, prices and what each one includes are shown in the app and in Google Play’s payment sheet before you pay, in your currency and including taxes where they apply. Offers can differ between countries and change over time.
Paying
Purchases are made through Google Play and charged to the payment method in your Google account. Google Play’s terms and payment policies apply. We never see your payment details.
Subscriptions and renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (a month or a year) until you cancel it. You are charged at the start of each new period, at the price shown when you subscribed. If the price changes, Google Play tells you in advance and, where the law or Google Play requires it, asks for your agreement.
Free trials
New subscribers may start the yearly plan with a free trial, if Google Play says they are eligible. Before you start, you see how long the trial lasts, when the first payment is due and the price after it. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you don’t, the subscription starts and you are charged the price shown. We remind you two days before a trial ends, unless you turn that reminder off; Google Play may also email you.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time in Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Bible Verse Call Screen → Cancel subscription (Verse Caller’s name in Google Play). In the app, More → Settings → Premium → Manage or cancel in Google Play takes you there. Premium then stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. See also Google’s help on cancelling.
One-time purchases
Lifetime and Remove ads are paid once, and nothing renews. “Lifetime” means for as long as we offer Verse Caller, on phones signed in to the same Google account. Remove ads turns off the ads; you can still choose to watch a short video to keep a theme.
Restoring purchases
Purchases belong to your Google account. On a new phone, or after reinstalling, use More → Settings → Premium → Restore purchases.
Refunds
Refunds are handled through Google Play under Google Play’s refund policies. You can also ask us: write to support@versedove.com with your order number (it starts with GPA.). This doesn’t limit your legal rights, including the right of withdrawal below.
Where the law of the country you live in gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, you can do it within 14 days of your first payment: for a subscription, in the app (More → Settings → Premium → Cancel or withdraw, which prepares the email for you), or for any purchase by writing to support@versedove.com with your Google Play order number (model form at the end of these terms). Premium or the item you bought then stops, and we refund the full payment through Google Play.
9. Changes to the app
We update the app to fix problems, keep it working with new Android versions, and add or change themes, reading plans and features. Themes and other content in our catalogue can change or be removed over time; content you have already downloaded keeps working where possible.
If we make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance. Where the law gives you the right, you can then end your subscription and get a refund for the time you haven’t used.
10. How the app works with your phone
- Full mode: Verse Caller works as your phone app. Setup offers it first wherever your phone allows it, and it is the only way verses come on Android 8 to 10. Your previous phone app’s own extras, such as call recording, visual voicemail or caller announcements, may stop while Verse Caller is your phone app.
- Lite mode (Android 11 and newer): Verse Caller works as your caller ID & spam app, and your usual phone app handles your calls. Android lets only one app do this, so your phone app’s own spam filtering doesn’t run while Verse Caller does it; Verse Caller doesn’t label spam calls itself.
- Switching: you can switch modes, or give the job back to another app, at any time in More → Settings → Calls → Which app handles calls or in Android settings.
- Phone brands: some manufacturers, depending on the model and software version, limit apps that show screens over other apps or run in the background. The app shows you how to allow it, but we can’t guarantee it works on every phone or after every system update. If a verse can’t appear, your phone’s normal call screen or a notification is shown instead, so you can still answer.
- Internet calls: WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram and other internet calls use their own call screens. Verse Caller works with regular phone calls.
- Emergency calls: always make sure you can reach emergency services. The app never blocks emergency numbers. If anything seems wrong with your calls, switch your default phone app back in Android settings.
- Voices: read aloud uses your phone’s own voices, so how it sounds depends on your phone.
11. A devotional app
Verse Caller is for your own prayer and reading. Its verses, prayers and reading plans are not professional advice of any kind. If you are in crisis or in danger, call your local emergency number.
12. What we can’t promise
We work hard to make Verse Caller reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it will work without interruptions or errors, on every phone, carrier or Android version, or that it will always show your verse.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law, including your rights if the app or a purchase isn’t as described.
13. Liability
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or by our negligence. We don’t limit our liability where the law doesn’t allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence.
Otherwise, and as far as the law allows:
- we are not liable for loss or damage that wasn’t foreseeable, for missed calls, for data you could have backed up, or for business losses, because the app is for personal use;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before your claim, or EUR 50 if that is more.
14. Ending these terms
You can stop using Verse Caller at any time: cancel any subscription in Google Play, then uninstall the app.
We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by getting around payments. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first. If we stop offering the app, we will tell you in advance where we can, and refund subscription time you have paid for but can’t use.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country where Moonlanes is registered (see the legal notice); this never takes away the protection the law of the country where you live gives you as a consumer. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where Moonlanes is registered, or in the courts where you live.
Please contact us first: most problems are solved by email. If we can’t settle a complaint, you can also turn to a consumer protection authority or out-of-court dispute body in your country.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app, and it takes effect 30 days later unless it is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you don’t agree, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
17. Other things
- If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over the app, without reducing your rights.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version applies where the law allows.
